Fencur Capsules are a broad spectrum benzimidazole anthelmintic used against gastrointestinal parasites including: giardia, roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, the taenia species of tapeworms, pinworms. Can be purchased without a prescription.
For an accurate dosage use, weigh your pet to determine proper capsule amount.
DEWORMING PUPPIES:
Give Pyrantel Pamoate starting at 2 wks old and again every 2 weeks until puppies are 6 weeks old at which point switch them to the Fencur dewormer administered every 2 weeks until they’re 8 weeks old or every 2 weeks until they go home. Fencur Capsules cannot be started until puppies are 6wks old. I use this as a Giardia preventative/treatment and also because it covers a wider range of parasites. Fencur dewormer cannot be used until puppies are at least 6 weeks old BUT Pyrantel Pamoate can and SHOULD BE STARTED when puppies are 2 WKS old. Please discuss your worming as a dog owner with your vet.
GIARDIA TREATMENT: 3 days
Fencur removes and controls a broad spectrum of stomach and intestinal worms. It is useful against the most common canine intestinal worms including whipworms, hookworms, roundworms and tapeworms.
Treatment of Giardia infections in dogs and cats:
Fencur once daily for 3 days
has been shown to be completely effective in eliminating experimental Giardia infections, and with only mild vomiting/diarrhea as potential side effects.
WORMING PUPPIES
IN DOGS: Fencur targets: Roundworms (Toxocara canis, Toxascari leonina), Hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala), Whipworms (Trichuris vulpis), and Tapeworms (Taenia pisiformis) as well as being effective against giardia.
